Right now, front 7 seems like the most logical choice for us.
I won't go on a limb and say a guy I like right now, because there's so much I don't know when watching a game.. (That guy would make a great 3 technique blah blah).. I just know "guys who play well on Saturday"
I am already on record as being interested in seeing how Danny Shelton develops. We need a true starting NT and Shelton has some potential. I admit that I am also intrigued by his story of his disarming the armed assailant that had shot his brothers and beating that assailant with the gun. Brugler has him going 5 picks later to the Patsies and I am not sure Shelton is worth our first round pick (whenever it is).

I am a Husky fan and will be watching Shelton this year. So far, they have played Hawaii and Eastern Washington (albeit both very close games) so i think his sack numbers are inflated. I will be curious to see how he stands up against Pac 12 interior lineman. But, he looks quicker than he did last year (to me).
If he has potential, play him at DE, where we are weak.
But all I keep reading about him is how big he is, unless he wants to be another Louis Nix (and like so many other NT types), he needs to show some technique and not be lazy on the field like some many others who slid in the draft. NFL teams don't care about size as much as they do technique.
No first step. Slow, not quick, not athletic by NFL standards. If he is going to have a chance, the guy has to become explosive. Right now the guy is a late round pick who is of no help to us unless he can learn to use his hands and develop some first step power. Right now he is a giant catcher, in that he catches OL and keeps his LB clean, but those guys are not going to last in the NFL. NFL DL who are good explode into the gaps and play with leverage, and this guy show none of that.
