Ross throws a gem, but gives up two runs in the 6th. Padres now trying to get something going w/a runner on in the seventh.

Pitching and timely hitting is what wins baseball games. We need that timely hitting thing to get going A S A P.

We're having a tough time stringing hits together. The Dodgers starters 1-3 are very good, but we should be able to get to their relievers.

Nice piece of clutch hitting by Alonso. Not trying to do too much and taking it the other way. Big confidence builder for him, I'd think.

Pads take the late lead, trader Gonzalez, hits a game tying home run and the dogers bullpen shit the bed. Alonso, Myers with key AB's and Norris using his legs for the second game in a row to make a difference.

Yea, not a game day thread in the true sense. Just a game by game discussion all in one thread I guess.... Every play in football has a reason to comment, but in baseball, there may not be anything to talk about for 20 minutes. We actually had one last year, but it soon sizzled out when we realized how bad we were ....

I actually stayed up late to watch the end of the game. Last season, I can't recall even watching a few innings of any game. It's a lot different when you actually have real all-stars on your team. It's nice to think that Dodger fans may have some concern about winning the division, but Adrian will a stick in the eye of all Pad fans... damn baseball economics.

Adrian will always be a thorn in the side of the Padres, and as much as it pains me to say this, that's as it should be. The Pads committed a mortal sin letting the hometown hero go. How great would it be if he were playing 1b for this squad?
