Nevin was also "me first" when it came to Sean Burroughs. Everyone knew the kid, being a first round draft choice was going to get his shot at 3B, but Nevin did his best to torpedo the situation. Instead of sucking it up and just working on his game and making the move to LF, he raised such a stink that they had to move Klesko to LF to keep Nevin in the IF at 1B. No doubt he (they, wouldn't be surprised if Klesko dog piled too) made life terrible for Burroughs in the clubhouse too. I can't believe anyone lets this guy manage, it doesn't surprise me his W-L record sucks.

If we can't get Santiago to be the hitting coach we can always ask Dave Kingman.

Good call on Jerk Clark, he can also be bench coach and assistant manager, I'm sure he'd do nothing to undermine Nevin.

We need to have Clark and Gwynn on the same staff even though Tony doesn't fit the profile of the others.

I will go with the rumors that say Padres want Torey Lovullo. He's in demand after his interim role with Boston, but he and Dee apparently have a comfort level from their Boston days. Dee seems bent on making the Padres "Red Sox West." Except SD does not have the financial resources to recover from any personnel mistakes like Boston does....

I heard Kotsay was in consideration. How is that even possible when we had the worst team batting average in the league? He shouldnt even be the hitting coach.

I seen it this morning that Gardenhire was the favorite to get the job. Would have loved to have him.
