    OT: RIP Jose Fernandez

Marlins right-hander Jose Fernandez, 24, was one of three men killed when a boat overturned in Florida early Sunday. Speed is suspected to be a factor in the accident.

Sad story, so young. Kid appeared to love the game, and I feel for the pregnant girlfriend. Hopefully Marlins organization takes care of her. He would have been a $200 million dollar contract down the road.

My apologies if this was posted elsewhere, did not see it.

Amazing. Reminds me of that incident several years ago with a group of Major league pitchers that died in a boat accident. Wasn't Bob Ojeda one of them?

Totally sad. Jose Fernandez was awesome.

It was so sad watching Mattingly, the manager/former player, talk about Jose Fernandez in a fatherly role. That was so emotional and honest.
