    Bud Black hired by Colorado

The Colorado Rockies will hire former Padres skipper Bud Black as their manager to replace Walt Weiss, who resigned last month after four seasons.

I'm happy for Bud. I can understand why Colorado hired Black. Weiss was difficult to work with from the FO pov. Black is a peach.

      I always liked Black

The fact that he almost had a .500 record in over 8 years with the dogshit personnel he was given is impressive.

We used to say the same thing about Bochy, but he had some division titles, as well as a pennant to go with it. I always felt we could do better than Bud Black, he blew his two chances to get into the playoffs. Not impressed with Green however, really wished they gave Roberts a shot, but what's done is done. I think if Green falters it would not surprise me if the Padres gave Mark McGwire a shot at the skippers job.

I see Carlos Gonzalez batting 8th for some reason.
