What a stupid foul. That cost the US the game.

It's soccer. Not our sport. It's a kid's game.
Mexicans spend their lives taking that shit seriously, and they barely beat us (sometimes we beat them.) All of Mexico's best athletes play soccer. Our best athletes stop playing soccer the moment they reach puberty.
Expecting us to kick ass on Mexico all the time would be like Mexicans expecting to beat us at football or basketball. Mexico's best football players couldn't beat our 1,000th best football players even if Norv was coaching our side. So, the fact we beat them almost half the time at soccer - that's pretty fucking good on our part.
Check out what happens in soccer when nobody else in the world cares about it. We win a lot.
In case you don't know what I'm talking about, it's female soccer.
Anyway - I know it's unpatriotic of me - but I root for Mexican soccer over us. Half my family is Mexican. All the soccer matches I've ever attended have been in Mexico, so I'm familiar with some of their players and all of their announcers. (If you want a really scary, really exciting, really fun time - attend a Chivas-Americas match in Mexico City or Guadalajara - there's nothing in the USA that rivals that.)
When Mexico beats us, it makes a lot of Mexicans really happy. When we beat Mexico, not too many people here care. Down there, the sports radio shows are filled with anger and self loathing. Mexicans have a love/hate relationship with their national team. Think about how we feel about the Chargers and multiply it by three bottles of mezcal.Last edited by Guest; 10-11-2015, 11:26 AM.

Interesting. Even though their society is more of a collective than ours their fans (generically) sound similar to us. But maybe it's just a Nationalism thing. I bet they're loving them now. :smile:For Stinky-Jon-Wizzleteats....

Jugamos como nunca, y perdimos como siempre.
They always want to fire the coach. Sometimes they want to fire the next coach before he gets hired.

However, gotta give credit where it's due. Props to Mexico for winning last night; that was a helluva game. By the way, real classy of Mexican fans to yell "puto" as loud as they can during opponent goal kicks. Real nice thing to pass down to your kids.
