    My takeaways from today's game

    1) stop the dumb third down penalties on D that extend drives. Penalties happen, sure, but too many penalties are occurred on third down. Three id their scores were the direct result of everyone doing their job, getting the stop, and one guy making a dumb penalty to give them a first down and extend the drive, maintain discipline fellas.

    2) stay disciplined on screen passes. This has been an ongoing weakness this season, and it needs to be a point of emphasis for our D to work on going forward. We are not attacking and flowing to the ball, especially in third and ling screens.

    3) we need to get healthy. Our depth has been big for us, but we really need our starters to get back sooner rather than later

    4) stop the dumb penalties

    5) don't abandon the run. It is a reason our Offense has been successful and it pays dividends later in the game.

    6) stop the dumb penalties

Sorry for the spelling on the thread title. I am dead tired and typing on my phone. Anyway...heading for a nap before work.

Did Rivers audible out when they were on the 6 yard line heading in? Keep feeding the hot hand, please, cost us 4 points we needed.

I think if we get #3 it pretty much takes care of all the rest.

Unfortunately stuff like this you just have to trust his judgement on. If we had scored out of the audible...then it's a brilliant move.

To me the only real takeaway is the injuries have just become too much to overcome. This team will continue to struggle until it can even become remotely healthy.

They have played without Mathews, Brown, Woodhead, Hardwick, Clary, Ingram, Te'o, Verret, Flowers and Attaochu. It doesn't matter how good of a job McCoy or Telesco can do you can't overcome injuries to 10 of your main players. We can complain about missed tackles, penalties and everything else but we would see a completely different team on the field if just half of those 10 players were healthy.

If you knew going into the season they would have players like Chris Davis, Marshall, Draughns, Conner, Ronnie Brown, Gachkar and Palepoi all playing key or contributing roles then our expectations would have been completely different. The fact that they are a 5-2 team with this many injuries is pretty remarkable in my eyes.

Andway too many of our recent early round draft picks can't get or stay healthy and are not contributing with any consistency because of it (Ingram, Te'o, Verret, Attaochu).

Floyd actually had separation. Rivers didn't make a good throw. This was not Rivers best day.

Looked to me just like against the Cardinals, were our line had trouble and Rivers was not able to get comfortable.

Rivers needs to see this then, if he's not so hot let Oliver punch it in.

Overall, is it okay to feel as if in our two losses, we beat ourselves more then we got beat by the other team?

Just quoting this because it's pretty much true. That's a formidable list of injuries.

I know every team has injuries, but for the past several years its been ridiculous. Not sure how they can remedy that. Healthier diets? stretching? Maybe voodoo
