One can only hope the return of Ingram on D and Mathews on O can infuse some energy, because as you said competition gets tougher. Hopefully Attoucha helps pass rush which has been none existent. No Reason to think our D-line going to stop the run, but hopefully Teo being instinctive can make a little difference, but what works against Teo even with his instincts he isn't a thump er. Butler use to be a thump-er but now he is just a bumper sticker "Missing ILB call me if you find him". On the offense line it may be time for Watt to come in as a starter.

Our defense has looked slow and soft the past 4 weeks. We really need those guys because Freeney has played so much, he now looks completely worn out.

I'm not sure what the fascination with Watt at center is. He has been just as responsible as any of our interior linemen for the sorry performance we have seen. I guess the "he can't suck worse" than Ohrnberger approach is at least trying something.

The point is there is not much reason to think anything is going to change as our competition gets much better. We are 1-4 against teams with winning records and I have seen nothing to think something will be different.

Not that it changes the essence of what you are saying, but we're 2-4. The Bills are 5-3.

The Chargers do well late in the season too. I wonder how much of that has been because people start overlooking them as legitimate contenders and they surprise people. They remind me of the Padres - play well late in the season when it is essentially over and the pressure is much less.
