Well, it's up to him and the coaching staff if he is going to play.
Knowing his make-up, he will play.
Team is going to have to do a better job of protecting him, (which will be hard against the Rams, and Chiefs, and Broncos).
He has been inaccurate, and this explains that to me.

Gates didn't "backpedal." He either told the truth, or he fucking lied.
As a former journalist, I realize Gehlken can't always know for certain when a player is lying. But, in this case, because Gehlken is the one who allegedly took Gates out of context, I would guess this is one of those moments when the reporter can report the truth.
