Buffalo gets those lake-effect snows and they can get buried in a short period of time. My friend who used to coach said there was no way to get and stay warm in their stadium this time of year. He said the wind comes off of Lake Erie and just freezes you to the bone.
This is worse than when the Chargers had to play their game in Az due to the fires. At least the Chargers players could meet and practice. NFL is in a real pickle. Maybe they should just call the game off and give Denver an extra victory. Peyton Manning does play for the Broncos, you know.

N.Y. Governor Says Jets-Bills Impractical
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo considers it "impractical" to play Sunday's game between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills as scheduled.

Weather Affecting Bills' Preparations
The Bills' home game against the Jets is not expected to be played Sunday afternoon, sources tell ESPN, as another storm Thursday brought the Buffalo area's paralyzing three-day snowfall total to six feet or more.

AP Photo/The Buffalo News/Derek GeeThe Bills' stadium was already buried in snow, with more expected to fall by the end of the day Thursday.
The Bills "will be hard-pressed to get their stadium ready for their next home game," a source told ESPN. That next home game is Nov. 30, against the Browns.
The question now is when and where Sunday's game will be played. The NFL will conduct a conference call with Bills and Jets officials Thursday afternoon to figure it out.
"Public safety is the first priority," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Thursday. "We have been in discussions regarding potential alternatives. We will provide an update later today."
Possible locations, according to sources, include Detroit, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. The Lions and Redskins are on the road this weekend; the Steelers have a bye. It's 215 miles from Buffalo to Pittsburgh, 256 miles from Buffalo to Detroit and 389 miles from Buffalo to FedEx Field in Washington.
Coaches for the teams are preparing with the belief the game will be moved to Monday evening in one of those three cities. The Bills have been unable to practice for the past two days and will have to leave Buffalo to do so.
The NFL has until Friday to make a decision about the game. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday that playing the game in Buffalo would be "impractical."
There is an estimated four feet of snow in Orchard Park at the stadium, and another two feet of snow is forecast.
Bills officials said Wednesday that it takes about three days to remove one foot of snow from the stadium and surrounding areas. At the rate the snow is falling, that cleanup would take 18 days.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the only teams in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to play consecutive games on Mondays are the 2010 Vikings in Weeks 14 and 15 and the 1996 Raiders in Weeks 8 and 10 (they a bye in Week 9). If Sunday's Jets-Bills game is rescheduled to Monday, the Jets would become the third team to play consecutive Mondays, although Elias will recognize only the scheduled Ravens-Saints game as the "official" Monday night game.
It's also unfair to Buff to have to play a game without a week of practice.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.
Build Back Better.
They have until Sunday to clear a path. Wimps. And if they were so concerned about practice, they would have built an indoor practice facility.
Prediction: Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably. Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) . Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

They DO have an indoor practice facility. The issue is that there is a travel advisory and you can be arrested if you are on the roads. Now, they don't really arrest many people doing that, the point is that the DOT, police and fire department have better things to do then save idiots who get trapped in the snow, but at least one person died in their car after it got buried by several feet of snow. And the snow plows smashing up cars on the roads means it takes a hell of a lot longer to push all that snow around, which is pretty damn difficult to begin with when there is that much at once.
You can also add that most of that snow is going to melt by game time. The temp is going to be in the 50's for most of Saturday, and the small amount of rain on top of the snow is going to put a lot of water into the local streams and rivers, so flooding will be a real concern.
