I remember how excited I was when Gary Anderson went airborne for a TD in a high scoring victory vs MIA Week One.

It was the beginning of the end of Air Coryell.
    We play modern Harball.

Interesting. That was a breathtaking play.

They would of scored more than 13 had their kicker not missed a chip shot.
You can see it your way but in his first game i see upside. Dont see upside to Tyrod.

In Rivers first start they only let him throw 11 passes and he sat on the bench for 2 years prior.
Rivers sat on the bench because he held out as a rookie and missed his chance to claim the position the team was trying to give to him. Frankly, Brees owes his entire career to that one little event because he absolutely sucked through 2003 and the team traded for Rivers to replace Brees in 2004. When Brees improved in 2004, the team stayed with him for a lesser 2005 that ended in serious injury.

Those developments in no way resemble Burrow's situation, though it is pretty clear that Dalton is better than Burrow is right now.

I disagree with you about Ross. The pass was overthrown and he missed multiple open TD pass opportunities with Green (not including the push off penalty). He also missed several other open passes. In short, he was not all that accurate when he was supposed to be the most accurate ever according to some. He was not that mobile and he was not that quick to read and diagnose plays. His arm strength was acceptable (low average arm), but certainly not a plus trait. He also struggled against pressure.

I think some of those traits will improve and he will not be a complete bust, but he seems much less effective at the NFL level when he does not have the best team by a mile and is not shooting fish in a barrel like he was at LSU. I do not see Burrow as a potentially elite QB. I see him as more of an average QB in a few years.

I disagree about Burrow. The Bengals scored 13. His QB rating was 66.1. He made a key turnover late and generally had no success until our defense looked tired (and Bosa was coming off the field for extended snaps), which was 100% due to the pathetic play of our offense against a less than stellar Bengals defense.

I’m not worried about Burrow or his future.

im interested in Herbert’s future which looks like it’s gonna be sooner rather than later. I can’t watch Tyrod for a full season.

Just to be clear, we can win more games than last season and even make the playoffs using this old school mistake free ground and pound style of football. See the Titans last year. We just can’t beat better offensive teams like KC yet. Caveat is that we also need to be better at running the ball. Maybe it means feeding Kelly more and our OL getting better at run blocking. After that it’s taking advantage of PA passes.

Lynn will probably stick with Tyrod as long as he can minimize mistakes and game manage correctly. It’s boring offensive football but it’s still better than throwing a rookie in and have him develop bad turnover decisions because he’s still so raw.

                    You remember that jammer ?
I just now looked it up and watched it again.
Anderson was lucky he didn't break his neck.
                    50-28 Chargers.
Then they lost like seven in a row.
                    Al Saunders in for Coryell.

I know what you and richpjr, for that matter, are saying.
                    It looked like shit.

Maybe Burrow is Mahomes equal, or better than Elway.
                    Who knows ?

                    Look at our Oline.
                    Tevi/Lamp/Feeney were OK.
We threw Tyree St. Louis out there.

I just think it is ALL crazytown right now.

Just think of the brutality...the humanity.
Ty Long and Randy Bullock both injured today.
                    LOL.

Did we have more OL go down outside of Pouncey and Turner? I saw Norton and Pipkin at one point. Unless those were special jumbo packages.

They kept cutting to him on the bench just sitting there a few times and as the Bengals were on their last drive.... How bout you get off your ass and go to the sideline and be a leader.. I'm not trying to hate but man he is depressing to watch. Nice to get the W but really not excited about it which sucks.
