Think it was Wood who compared AL to Parcells. This is a quality comparison to style and approach.

would venture the guess that Herbert is Telesco's guy and that John Spanos was the guy that weighed in on bringing in AL, as didn't get the impression that he was Telesco's guy/choice ??

will also surmise that Telesco is pretty much gonna let AL have relatively free reign when it comes to starting Tyrod or Justin.... if there are changes @HC, guessin' it comes from Spanos, as he is connected to the finances, and if he brought AL in, then guessin' it's on him as to his fate come season's end ??

I was probably one of the first people who started advocating for us to draft Herbert and had stated many times I do think he will be the better QB between the big 3 drafted this year, but I do not agree with someone else other then the HC making a decision as to who should start at QB other then the HC otherwise why hire him to make decisions if someone above him decides who they want at QB. Lets just pray that Anthony Lynn comes to his senses and if he doesn't and TT starts and we end up losing well then I can probably gaurantee you Herbert starts every game after that.

What Taylor showed us in week 1 was what he showed in Cleveland and Buffalo and what we'll see again if he is our starting QB. He isn't going to change and he isn't going to lead this team anywhere. And it will very likely cost Lynn his job.
Terrible decision...punting to hand the rock to Mahomes, one of the best game-winning drive QB's in the league, and putting your gassed D back onto the field is like giving the nuclear bomb to Hitler and putting a troop of Boy Scouts in to defend against it...

Bud Wilkerson won 47 straight games and 3 national championships using that strategy, and at one point had a record of 107-8-2. I know most fans hate the strategy, but if you can pull it off, it does work.

The problem I have with it, at least in this case is that he is doing it at the expense of developing the QB of the future. I know rookie QB make mistakes, but Rivers and other QB who sit make "rookie" like mistakes when they finally get to play. The most important part of any NFL franchise is player development. The idea of teams building for the future is a myth, all teams are CONSTANTLY rebuilding. IT is never ending. So, it is gutless to say that you don't want to play someone because of experience. At some point you just have to bite the bullet and live with it, because you will come out ahead in the end.

                  Oh please.
The ball was at the 34yd line.
Lynn is plenty aggressive. His defense had been playing well. He showed confidence in his defense.
Mahomes doesn't matter. He lead them to a 58yd FG try. He didn't do anything special. If they go for it and dont pick up 1st. KC starts in FG range.

Lynn would have easily went for it 4th &1 at the 50. Don't get it there and KC doesn't start in FG range and your defense can still help win the game.

Lynn was playing to win. He went for some 4th downs earlier in game in spots that made sense. He want to be able to rely on his entire team. O D and ST.

The Go for it there reason was because of fear of Mahomes could not be stop. Lynn doesn't make choices out of fear. He makes his 4th down decision based on field position and how his team has been playing up to that point. If Mahomes was marching down the field all day and Chargers were in a shootout. Then he will go for it on his own 34yd line in OT because he want to win the game and his defense wasn't playing well enough to give them that chance....the offense was keeping the team in the game and he would bet on them there.
That is how he do it. He bet on his defense making another stop because in his mind they had been playing well enough to rely on there. KC had to make 58yd FG.

And what if the refs don't make that mistake that gave a point to Cheifs.....then there is no OT. Its a 20-19 win over the Champs with a rookie QB. They were lucky.

Its easy to second guess Lynn.
I have a lot of confidence in him. The gameplan was great. The execution was really good. The team can continue to build and develop all year. KC was a game to see where they were at. And they appear to be a very well coached team and well prepared to beat the other team.

I think a lot of people thought.....no Derwin. Couple offensive lineman out. Offense cannot keep up with Cheifs and Mahomes. This could be a blowout and Chargers getting cooked by KC. That didn't happen and its because of Lynn gameplan and having his team prepared to win the game. And the gameplan clearly had to be cut down to help the rookie. Lynn would like to play the vet and have more of his gameplan available to be called.

I get the excitement over Herbert. I get the fear of Mahomes. I just like that Lynn isn't doing either. No reactionary emotional decisons. He is being true to himself. Confident in what he is doing to prepare his team and win games. The players take on the menatlity and are confident in what they are doing on gameday which is why they even had a chance to win vs KC. And why they can beat any team they play.

I'm fine out on this Limb by myself.
100% happy with Lynn as HC.

Teddy Bridgewater isn’t Tyrod. He’s actually a decent qb. How many times have the chargers played a team missing it’s star and come up short. Think Pittsburgh last season with the 3rd string QB.
