You have to be able to pass rush without blitzing against the Chiefs. And then you have to have a good offense to keep up with them.

Again, this is where Derwin would have paid dividends this year. The guy could line up at any position but DT. Has to be accounted for on every play.

Our most valuable defensive player out for the year again. Always seems to happen right before the season starts too.

And I agree, with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning you didn't have to worry about them taking off running. Patty can do it all unfortunately for the rest of the league. Even if you can collapse the pocket he can weasel his way out and pick up quite a few yards on foot if need be.

What's the solution? a prolific offense that can keep up and a defense that can do just enough to slow him down while the offense builds a nice lead. Sadly with all the injuries and our coaching staff being inept, I don't see us being anywhere near that. I will enjoy watching Herbert get some NFL experience in the meantime until we get some real coaching leadership (if we ever do).
