Herbert was asked about the handoff and he said the DL made a great play and didn't feel the handoff was bad.

Herbert made a few mistakes. From the gate, when Brady marched down with ease on the opening drive uncontested I knew it'd be a long day. When the Chargers actually had a lead, I got fooled yet again. As bad as the oline is, Bucs dline is stout. The biggest issue was the defense getting zero pressure. Didn't the Bucs score on every possession in the second half? Thats poor defense on the Chargers. Why this front office thought our defensive line would be good enough with or without Ingram is laughable. Tillery is horrid at run defense and wildly inconsistent at rushing the passer. This team should have overhauled the defensive line.

Suh was hitting him in the backfield before he hit the line of scrimmage. It wasn't a clean handoff and the running back had no time to situate the ball before suh hit him.

Once again, we should be very happy that we immediately have a post Rivers generational QB.

          Everything else ? Who cares.

Nothing we can do about all these injuries.

I now see what TT was talking about, calling Herbert #1 on his Big Board, '19 & '20.
Wu-dai it’s potentially great to have the #1 position on the team solved for the next 10-15 years. But we play to win the game. Hi his team has to figure out how to do that. We needed luck to beat the bengals.

            Of course.

I am in part responding to the avalanche of negativity on this board.

            How about some perspective ?

"The defender who forced the Kelley fumble," that was Suh.

The Bucs have the best front seven in football, and BTW this was GOAT too.
We do not play modern football.

We likely ran into the superbowl representatives in KC and Tampa within the last few weeks
also what appears to be an under rated Panthers team (Joe Brady?)

I’m more about the long term than 2020, but the season itself is far from lost

                a little health
                easier competition
                and 9 or 10 wins isn’t inconceivable

Seems right until you remember that our defense will blow up in the second half.

                    AUSTIN EKELERRB, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Austin Ekeler (hamstring) is likely headed to injured reserve.

Rapoport said the Chargers hope Ekeler can return this season after suffering a "serious" hamstring injury. It sounds like that's not a lock though. Ekeler was helped off the field Sunday against the Bucs, unable to put any weight on the injured leg. Josh Kelley got nine carries and three receptions in Week 4, while Justin Jackson had eight touches. Kelley is the favorite to lead the backfield in carries for as long as Ekeler is sidelined. Jackson should be picked up this week -- he's one Kelley injury

Wood is right, we should be thankful that we have found our QB - it could have taken several more years to draft the right one.

Before this season started most of us thought we had the right people in place to expect a good year, except for the QB. Now we've found the QB but injuries have depleted us at several other positions so we still are not a very good team.

Guilty of the negativity. I'm a frustrated chargers fan who sadly has seen the same thing over and over regardless of who the coach is. My biggest concern was and is this defense. We clearly do not have good enough depth.
