(NEW YORK) -- Pop star Justin Bieber has been hanging out with members of the New England Patriots, causing concern among some fans who believe the team’s association with the troubled star could be disastrous.
On Tuesday, photos were posted to Twitter showing Bieber with members of the Patriots, including star Rob Gronkowski. They were hanging out in the locker room of the Los Angeles Clippers following a game on Monday, and the response on Twitter was swift.

Those concerned could be looking back at Bieber’s associations with, or support of certain teams, in the past, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Heat and the Spanish national soccer team, that appear to have coincided with those teams’ stunning defeats.
In October, Bieber cheered on the New York Knicks on their opening night and the team lost 140 to 80.
In November, Bieber attended a Bible study with members of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the next day the team lost to the New York Jets, a team that had not won a game in two months.
The Patriots next play the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Despite some fans' concerns about Bieber's influence on the team, some replied with heavy skepticism.Go Rivers!

BOSTON (CBS) — The New England Patriots have spent their week out west as they prepare for Sunday night’s matchup with the San Diego Chargers.
While it has been all business for the Patriots on their left coast trip, they did manage to have a little fun with a few days off at the beginning of the week. On Monday night, five members of the team attended the L.A. Clippers game, and got to meet Justin Bieber in the locker room.
As soon as pictures of the meeting hit social media, many started to fear the “Bieber Curse.” The last three teams who interacted with Bieber this season have all lost after their get-together with the pop star– the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Are the Patriots worried? Tight end Rob Gronkowski was asked about the “curse” in San Diego on Thursday, and didn’t sound very concerned.
“We’re just on to San Diego. We’re just worried about the Chargers, man,” said Gronkowski.
Gronk was much more open to talking about Chargers tight end Antonio Gates, who he’s admired for quite some time.
“He’s an unbelievable player. Ever since high school I’ve looked up to him,” Gronk said of Gates, who has 47 reception and nine touchdowns on the season. “I love the way he runs routes and how he gets open and how he makes it stick at the top of the routes to get open. I’ve always watched him ever since growing up and I still watch him to do this day to learn from him.”
Gronkowski and Gates can set some history on Sunday, as both have a chance to become the first tight end to have four 10-touchdown seasons in their career. But Gronk is much more focused on getting a win following last week’s loss in Green Bay.
“As of right now, I’m not really worried about any of that,” said Gronkowski. “The thing I’m really focused on is getting a victory every week and going out and doing my job and everything else is going to take place on its own. So, [I] just go out, do my job and make plays when my number is called and help out the team.”Go Rivers!
