OT: Ex Bolts Coach Mike Riley to Nebraska

I think he should stay in Oregon.

That was pretty fast. Dumping a coach that had them at 9-3 to a nice guy who just had a 5-7 season. Will he take them to 1-11?

Not sure I'd dump Pellini for this guy, but w/e.

I'm really surprised, Riley is a Corvallis guy, he grew up there. I figured he would stay at OSU as long as they'd have him

I'll never forget his staple post-loss comment:

"Welll, our guys tried real hard...."

LOL, it always cracked me up for some reason....that he felt the need to say that EVERY time.

That being said, I always liked Mike Riley. I agree with Screeme that he should have stayed at OSU.

                Money

                Money

                Money

And the big ten is a step up from the pac fudge as far as national perspective is concerned

He plateaued at osu. USC Ou ucla and au would always be ahead of osu as afar winning a national title goes.

Phil knight and the la moguls are spending too much money for osu to compete.

At Nebraska mike has a university that that has prestige and much easier competition to compete against for a title both for conference and national.

Where as in osu he had no chance

I liked him, too. I loved how his teams always played hard for him. Even the 1-15 season wasn't so bad because the players played so hard. He just had shit talent to work with.

I'll be pulling for Riley at Nebraska. He'll finally be somewhere that brings in top players.

Sad but true. And Nebraska isn't even that good a college team.
