JV born and bred in Fairfield in the Northeast Bay. Playing for the Niners is sort of a homecoming.

My friend waited on him when he was a Chargers and told me he tipped well and took a picture with him and another Charger fan coworker

Most guys would have given up after what Verrett went through. It's a real testament to his character that he kept at it and has a shot at a career again. I wish him the best.

why give up when there are teams willing to pay you to sit in the hot tub and get massages your whole career. he is THE DEFINITION of glass. I doubt he'll make it through the whole season intact. if he does...then good for him. about time he does something on the field for a team he's on.

Verrett is a high character kid. I have friends who knew him growing up in Fairfield, though I didn't know this until he was no longer a Charger. His determination to make it back to the NFL after most would have given up is a testament to his character.

You sound a bit bitter. While it was a bitter pill for Chargers fans to swallow when a player with so much and talent and promise could hardly take the field for the Chargers, he doesn't deserved to be blamed or ridiculed or disrespected for his misfortune.

Neither team looking good in Buffalo. Josh Allen looks pretty bad. Not on Justin Herbert's level.

I've watched Buff's last two games. Allen looked over-matched/overrated in both. He looked good against the Raiders though. Don't know what the deal is with him. Inconsistent.

The Allen I have seen the last 2 games looks an awful lot like the QB I saw play at Wyoming - and that is not a good thing.

NFL DC's are figuring him out.
Same will happen to Herbert with his long bombs at 45yrd line. I hope Chargers switch to 10-15yrd passes to Allen when it happens.
