Just when I think Porkchops isn't all that bad, he screws up. And Watt blocked the wrong guy at least twice. How does that happen with the guy calling the blocking scheme?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I believe Rivers has been calling the protections for some time now and he made as many mistakes as Watt did. Guys were coming in clean and it wasn't just because of blown assignments. It was the wrong protections being called.

Rookie mistake. I can't be that hard on Watt, as he's been thrust into a position he's not ready for.
Even though he had strong words for his offensive line as they left the field, Rivers is shouldering the blame.
"Shoot -- we're all accountable," Rivers said. "All of us -- the whole offense. And our offense tonight scored seven points. I think the first thing you look at is the quarterback, and I can stand here and say I didn't play up to par. That's probably pretty clear watching it."
I'm hoping that PR doesn't fall into that trap he had with Norv's final years of feeling he has to put the team on his back. Maybe he does, but when he starts thinking that way, he's very prone to making very aggressive mistakes that turn into pick-6s. Making protection calls because his center can't, while getting plays from his 'rookie' OC, and figuring out the D for the right call is already a huge burden.
