At times, I really like Steichen's play calling, so my solution is to fire Lynn and try to keep Steichen and then see in 2021 if Steichen also needs to go.

The ship has already sailed as far as Lynn and Bradley are concerned. They definitely need to go.
I would be totally fine with this as long as Steichen was order not to call any of those gimmick plays that do nothing but kill drives.

We've avg over 30 points in the last 4 games. That's at KC O level. Steichen's O is competitive.

I agree that O is fine and that D is what holding this team back.

I guess it is kind of like people thinking Norv Turner must be a good head coach because we went 11-5 in 2007. I think there was actually a Norv Turner drag effect operating against us, but our team was so good that we finished 11-5 anyway.

There is no doubt that the conservative play calling has hurt our offense in games this year. While it is unreasonable to think that we would have scored on every drive if we had done things differently and less conservatively, it is not unreasonable to believe that we would have done some better. After all, it is the emphasis on the passing game at other times in the games that has been responsible for getting us the points we have scored in the first place.

We do score 30+ points because Herbert and the receivers are good, but it could be more if we did not go very conservative at times in the games trying to sit on big leads. We need to be keeping our foot on the gas, mixing in some running plays to keep teams honest. While we are passing more with Herbert, we are not yet where we need to be in terms of our run/pass distribution.

By possessing the ball more on offense, we will both score more points and help our defense by limiting the possessions of our opponents.

Agree the foot needs to be flooring the gas pedal all game. You cannot be worried about running up the score with Gus trying to give points away like candy on Halloween.

It reminds me of my home. My wife and I have a competition, to see who can win. I earn money and she spends it. She kicks my ass every week. Like Steichen getting points and Gus giving them away. Its not close.
