The line WILL be better than last year, the only argument is by how much. As stated above this will not be an all-pro group but with a bit of extra depth and if McCoy can get the ball out of Rivers hands quicker than the last few years, the line will be servicable. Brown, Royal and Woodhead will be the real key to this offense running IMO (of course that would mean Royal and Brown would need to stay healthy). They may not be the big flashy names, but I happen to think they will be the make or break trio.

San Diego: Not adding a top left tackle. Like Oakland at pass-rusher, San Diego didn’t have a lot of options. It didn’t have a lot of cap room to play with, and the rookie pool at left tackle dried up quickly in the draft. The top three left tackle prospects went in the first four picks of the draft. So San Diego didn’t really have a lot of chances to grab a left tackle. However, it is a premium position, and sometimes you have to do what it takes to fill a problem at a premium position. San Diego finally settled on Max Starks at left tackle. He is decent but not great. He is a short-term answer. The Chargers still have no idea whom their left tackle of the future will be. If Starks fails or gets hurt, it will have a major effect on quarterback Philip Rivers. If that happens, we will all be pointing to San Diego’s inability to get a clear-cut answer at left tackle.

These types of analyses crack me up. You know they really didn't have a chance to sign a LT, but they should've found a way to conjure one up out of thin air.

You know waist bending is one of the biggest sins an OL can have right? Harris is waist bender, and that is why he sucks.

If this kid is a waist bender, it is not worth signing him, he has no chance of making the roster. He doesn't have enough time to learn the playbook and fix a major mechanical flaw. There is no way he can make a roster like ours unless he has an offseason, unless he is reasonably mechanically sound coming in.

But the article doesn't say he is a waist bender. It says he bends well, which presumably means he bends his knees, which is a huge positive, because that is the way you are supposed to do it. If he does bend his knees and plays with leverage, then he could be an upgrade over king Dunlop who is not a good knee bender, and lacks leverage because of it.
