Getting rid of the stupid looking white collars is a major improvement, I agree. I get a kick out of the Spanos braintrust planning for these uniform changes for 'years'. Wow. Committees, minutes, agendas, acronyms, meetings, all aimed at lettering modifications. What a country!

The whole uniform is a clusterfuck of compromise derived from meetings. Why they didn't just keep what they had or change it to the '61 Throwback uniform is beyond me.

The Liuget one looks the best IMO; overall, the jerseys look a lot better. Like everyone else, I never liked the while toilet seat around the collar.

They actually had them right side up at first. If you will recall, there was a commercial (Gatorade I think) where Rivers was wearing a jersey with the bolts as they should have been. Also this from the Chargers fashion show introducing the new shit unis with Lorenzo Neal wearing a jersey with a correctly oriented bolt.



When this first happened I managed to get an angry email through to Jim Steeg about how much I hated the new unis. We exchanged a couple e-mails, and he told me that someone at the manufacturer screwed them up. Upon seeing the fucked up upside down bolts, they (probably A.G. Spanos) liked them better. So we have some dumbasses in a sweatshop to thank for them.

As much as I dislike the current unis, I might be able to get onboard if at least the bolts were right. The upside down bolt is the element I hate the most, and as bad as they look on the unis they look 1000 worse on fan jerseys, especially some of the knockoffs.
