Feel good story of this otherwise shitty year is Alex Smith. Miraculous that he’s back playing football at all after 17 surgeries and a near amputation but he’s playing well enough for the WFT to contend in the NFC East and is 3-1 as a starter.

For a guy who has always been kind of an afterthought QB, he has won a lot of games and has a career record of 97-67-1. 30 games over .500 is definitely not anything to sneer at and it is really good to see him back on the field after that injury.

So Telesco did a great job by both drafting an obvious NFL talent and cutting him when injuries outweighed production/potential?
Still say coaches failing to develop talent has been our biggest problem

Agree that player development is sadly lacking here. Are the position coaches the problem here or does it fall on the coordinators and HC? or all of the above?

Cam Akers, 80+ yards rushing already half way through the 1st Q. Telesco could have drafted Akers in the 2nd round and still had a 3rd pick. But hey, we got Kenneth Murray and Joshua Kelley.
