I'm a bit surprised the Patriots made the move. Good for them.

Bengals should be putting in a claim on him any minute now.

Like OIP said, kudos to the Patriots' organization. I'm thinking this is more than just an obstruction of justice thing for Hernandez. Waste of a super-good life.

I would think obstruction of justice is not a 'take you out of your home in cuffs' offense.

Not so sure about that. They routinely cuff guys and take them out, don't they? Doesn't have to be a murder suspect. I've seen pictures of guys being led off in cuffs that didn't commit a heinous crime. Maybe it depends on the state?

Source on Hernandez: “Assume the worst”

Police did not treat Hernandez like someone accused of obstruction Wednesday morning. They had seven officers take him into custody and staged a perp walk in broad daylight in front of the assembled media. They could have just asked him to turn himself in and save face. Additionally, the Patriots likely have more information than we have right now regarding Hernandez's exact charge and what evidence authorities have against him. They released him Wednesday morning. Hernandez will be arraigned at some point Wednesday, at which point charges will be filed.

The Pats were applauded for taking a chance on some risky players.. Hernandez and Mallet dropped due to red flags. Gronk had the back issues in college. Good to see these picks coming back to bight them.

                        Are they now the Pastriots?
