So, who do we pay to keep.

In some cases it is clear. Keeping Flowers makes sense unless his demands are obscene. Dropping Hardwick and Clary...

    How's ever...

Mathews even Dunlap IMO and others can we get better talent for less?

    Thoughts?

My fear with Dunlap is the Gaither effect. Not fair I know but it's in the back of my mind.

I like Flowers for 4-5 more years on a reasonable contract.
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

Flowers and Verrett on the field at the same time were amazing. But Flowers will be expensive. I think you extend Rivers and Weddle and cut that 27 million cap hit in half. Use that money to lock up Flowers and pay him a good chunk of the guaranteed money up front like the Packers did with Shields. Just not 4 years 38 million. 4 years 30 million?

Gaither had a history of taking the money then taking a holiday from working.....I see no evidence of that with Dunlap.

Dunlap and flowers are the musts. After that id like to see Ricardo, Gilchrist, Royal and Gachkar return. None of those should break the bank. If royal asks for starters money, see ya. Freeney and Wright are probably gone. Jarret will probably have to take another paycut cuz he's not worth the $5 million he's going to make. He'll probably agree to it too since no one will give him anything close to that on the open market. Clary and Hardwick will probably retire. Don't care about the rest.

I think Freeney, Hardwick and Clary retire. Maybe even JJ, if not then he may be gone.

Lock up Flowers, Wright, Dunlop and Royal.

Gilchrist and maybe Floyd are cap casualties to give TT more room in FA to improve the Oline. Maybe some contracts are restructured like Fleet mentioned.

I'm good with your list (to start). I'm flip-flopping on Wright and Glichrist. One of those two, for sure; the other is a casualty. I'd love to restructure Gates, JJ, Rivers AND Weddle to give us even more room.

I have a hard time letting players go who are just entering their most productive years. We've trained them for 4 years, sign them to market contracts to get their best work.

Note I don't say overpay to keep them.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
