Manti Te’o out this week with foot injury

Chargers rookie linebacker Manti Te’o is dealing with a foot injury.

San Diego coach Mike McCoy said Te’o has a foot sprain and will be out this week. There’s no word on exactly what happened, but Te’o was spotted wearing a walking boot at the team’s facility and was not practicing this morning.

Te’o made his preseason debut on Thursday night against the Seahawks and played nine snaps, all with the first-string defense, but didn’t record any tackles or otherwise show up in the box score. Te’o played first and second downs and came off the field on third downs.

Now Te’o won’t be on the field at all for a week
