    2021 Official Chargers Season Discusssion

I could see Staley trying to get some key pieces from his Rams defense. He has stated how important guys like Troy Hill was. John Johnson a 100% snap guy. Leonard Floyd a full time edge guy. He wasn't just a situational pass rusher. I think he could see big money though.

May not be a popular idea here but i have no problem paying money for a kicker like Koo. lol

    Chargers upcoming free agents.

I don't think Koo would want to come back to the Bolts...too many bad memories with us might mess with his game...even though he missed that crucial figgie try vs. the Chefs, he still kicked 94% on the year...I think the Falcons extend him...

Keepers: Henry, Perryman, Davis, Green, Lamp, Feeney, Rochell.

I'd be ok if Tevi was kept for depth, but I wouldn't be surprised if most of the OL is blown out. Jenkins is ok, but not really into keeping him.

          HH - keeper
Perryman - keep only if he signs to a team-friendly 1+1 deal...too many injuries, a liability in coverage, might not fit Staley's system, so a possible cut...
Davis - keeper, if he fits Staley's D...has the tools, may need a bit more coaching up...
Green - depends on how he fits Staley's O...possible cut...
Lamp and Feeney - if they fit Staley's O scheme, extend with team-friendly deal...if not cut...I'd like to at least keep one of them...
Rochel - again, depends on scheme fit...if he's cut, no great loss...

First things first - -until you figure out what to do with Hayward, Turner and Mike Williams - kind of hard to figure out the rest. But in my world, Hayward and Turner are released and probably Mike Williams but for this argument we keep Mike Williams but lower the cap number

Hunter Henry, Mike Davis and Jenkins (or a Safety in FA becomes a need that Staley and the new DC deem a better fit too are the first priorities) - but for this exercise using "dollars" for Jenkins

Second - Anderson at TE and Rochell at DT seem like good players to bring back

Lastly, two of the three of Tevi, Lamp and Feeney.

The rest - figure out the draft and than circle back

Outside of keeping Jenkins, this is exactly where I'm at as well.

Last year, Koo earned just a little over the league minimum wage on a one-year deal...maybe they double it...but you have a point there on the cap...now that Koo is a proven commodity in NFL, (94% fg rate) if he doesn't like the Falcons' offer, he will no doubt have some suitors (except us)...

This will be a unique off season.
Market forces will lead to one year contracts
at bargain prices for many, many players.
The issue will be that teams with lots of cap space
will be able to make offers to
                    Hunter Henry and Michael Davis
                    that we don't like.

We have plenty of CAP space.
We have the ability to cut/trade aging vets to create significantly more space.
MikeDub will sign a new 4-5 year deal worth an average of $11-$13 per year (21 cap hit = <$9).
HH and MD43 are staying in PB.
TT/BS will have the FA strategy set soon and the draft strategy soon after.
2021 will be a great building year.
2022 our SuperBowl runs begin. 3 RINGS before 2028.

They probably already know what they want to do with MW, Turner and Hayward.

I'd let Hayward and Turner go. Extend MW.
Keep Tevi (depth) blown out Feeney and Lamp.

                        Sign Jenkins, HH, Davis.

                        Trade Kyzir for a pick
