Wow, I was excited when the Chargers drafted him after he set those records at SDSU. I hoped he would beat out Fouts but it never came to pass. RIP. -
man that is sad. I had an uncle who struggled with bi polar disorder and depression, he lived with us when I was very young, he was like my older brother....his story is similar, he was brilliant and handsome and charismatic, people just loved him but as he grew older things went to hell.

Very sad to hear. I was a student at SDSU when he was the starting QB. It was not an easy task for him either following arguably the two best Aztec QB's of all time in Dennis Shaw then Brian Sipe (there's an argument for Don Horn too). I had no idea he had been going through these problems in his life. RIP Jesse Freitas.Comment
