    Free Agent/Role Model pick ups

Which Veteran Free Agents would be a solid pick up or a good Role Model , For a low/decent price ?

Ala, Takeo Spikes, J Johnson, Lo Neal, Chris Chambers Etc

There is always some key Veteran Free Agent pick ups that teams find a way to pick up for playing/Role model purposes.....Take Chris Chambers for instance, Vincent Jackson wasn't ready to be our #1 WR and we picked up Chambers during the Bye, And that was the best move we could have made at that time, He took the pressure off of VJ and helped his career 100%

Here's a few dudes hat I think would still make a few plays and be good role models for the younger players

*A J Hawk *Reggie Wayne *Ngata *Frank Gore *Osi Umenyiora * AP

What do you guys think ???

AJ Hawk is pretty bad. They've been clamoring to replace him for years up here in GB. Wayne is very close to being done. He can't run anymore. Ngata is still a fantastic player. I'd be surprised if Baltimore lets him go. He still can command hefty $ if they do let him go. I thing Gore would be good for a 1-2 year pick up at a lower price point. I love the way he runs. It would be a risk given his age and health, but depending on the $, maybe worth it. Osi's done, and also has missed significant time with injuries.

Love AP as a runner, but that's it. Like Matthews, he tips your hand toward the run when he's in due to his inability to catch the ball well. I'm not fond of one dimensional backs, even if they have stellar skills. On a personal note, my heart grieves for him and his little boy. I've been guilty of many things I'm not proud of in this life, so I'm hoping for AP and his son to be able to resolve this and pick up the pieces the best they can.

Reggie Bush? He'd fit right in with our banged up bunch of running backs. We can just have 5-6 "part-time" backs. :smh:
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

yeah for me: none of the above. I don't think Ngata will be at a decent price...how much is he looking for ?

I would like Odrick but I think even he is looking at 7 million per year....he would fill a looming void
Forget it Donny you're out of your element

          How about Kiwanuka?

Mathias Kiwanuka, who played nine years at linebacker and defensive end and won two Super Bowls as a member of the New York Giants, was released Tuesday by the team in an expected salary-cap move.

He is not a horrible option. He has split his time as a true (43 OLB) Lb type and DE. He has never had a chance in a 34 OLB spot, but he has done everything that those players do. And at this stage, there is no question that he would be coming to be a backup, not a starter. I like the idea of adding someone who can play, but won't take time away from Ingram or Attaochu. He has a rep as a guy who spends time working with younger players and being a team guy.

The big things are how is his knee and how much will it cost? He is not a guy I see spending a ton on, but for the right price.

              Freeney!
I would like a guy who changes the personality of the position group he plays at, like Flowers brought to the secondary last year, but for the interior dline....

Flowers defnitely brought an identity to the Back field...Him mixed with Weddle is a great combo, Weddle simply couldn't wrangle all of them on his own, And Flowers open up so much by taking that load off of Weddle

Having a D-Line and Linebacker leader is desperately needed....It looked like D Butler was on his way to being that guy, But that's been put on hold and or taken a few steps back.

We need a few F A's that have a rep for being game planned for

                  How about Cortland Finnegan?

Not to play for the Chargers, just sign him and let our guys beat the shit out of him, then release him.

I would endorse this move. Plus, it could set a hilarious precedent of come - up - ins for dirtyazz players.
