No offense but I'd rather they kept their priorities on the draft preparation until finished. it has no difference whether they do the extension at any point ahead of the deadline.

I like that they did this right before the draft. Now when they draft a safety, James knows that he still figures into the team's long term plans. This way, there will never be any way for even the slightest doubt to build up in James' mind.
