Gotta agree with this , besides the Nebraska OT anything round 4 and after looks like ST players Rumph will get his shots at the QB I'm sure. Not a bad draft but nothing to write home about. I like the top 3 picks the TE could be a sleeper who develops with Cook's help. I'd give it a B- up to there.

          Edit. Props to maurile !
That may be going a bit far.

We are the Chargers, and that is kinda our thing.

I do agree that there should be a lot less of that going forward. That is Staley thing. I think he is a great teacher and can get a lot of material across and have his guys retain it.

Norv, McCoy, and Lynn will give you that impression over the last 12 years. Just really piss poor leadership. We might see mistakes but we're not going to see the same mistakes 4 games in a row...

Yes. Yes. It will take time. Here's one detail from Staley's comments. It's re ST.

Rountree shows good willingness and ability at pass pro. Staley says this should help us, with Rountree in the role as wing man for our punter.

Fewer blocked points. One beautiful thing.
We do not play modern football.

The new staff/TT made ST a priority in both FA and the draft. We better see a dramatic impact.

My gut feeling is that this draft is gonna grow on us.

We just missed on some prospects LAC liked--TT mentioned this, and some you liked too.

That's the same for every team in the draft.

Thats true about every team missing out on players. But for the Chargers to get Rashawn Slater - I will take the rest of the draft not falling into place. Chargers got a guy who was on most draft boards - the second best Olineman after Sewell - probably ahead of the AVT. If he is as good as many think he is, like Riddick - I am fine with how the rest of the draft went in terms of "missing on players"

Other teams missed out on Slater and Samuel, and Jaimes to a lesser extent. We did bary miss some maybe targets, but thats how it goes.

There will always be some almosts but I’m happy with the draft for the most part even though we only took 2 in my top 100/3 in top 150.
We took players fairly close to where I ranked them with the exceptions of Palmer and McKitty (their QB play made an accurate evaluation difficult). Strange but Palmer is my favorite pick outside of Slater. JH10 happy with both I’m sure.

                          .#13) Slater - #17 OMB
                          .#47) Samuel Jr. - #63
                          .#77) Palmer - #157
                          .#97) McKitty - #153
                          #118) Rumph II - #135
                          #159) Jaimes - #167
                          #185) Niemann - #182
                          #198) Rountree III - #163
