It says the Taylor pick can be a 5th round pick if he gets 80% of the starting snaps or more. I wonder what that means. Is it the first snap in at least 14 games? Is it starting every game and getting at least 80% of the snaps in each game game started? That's such a weird measure, they should just use overall snaps or games started.

4 extra picks at the backend of the draft certainly isn’t a bad thing.

Not a bad thing absolutely. But in the 6th and 7th round, I tend to think of the talent available there really about the same as the UDFA market.

We once had a GM that would have traded away his first round pick to get four extra picks in the late rounds.

Just looking at the trades that went down in this most recent draft. These late round picks are pretty pitiful ammo for moving up. Like, a 6th rounder might get you up 3-5 spots in the third round. And why would we trade up in the third round, when the guy we’re targeting would have otherwise likely made it to the fifth round.

Just as you, I have been there and lived through that. And he was so keen on drafting Sammy Small Schoolers with those picks. I mean Winnapookie Pines Trade School of Dashboard Repair and such. Ya had to love Bobby.........
