With all due respect, the world and Chargers organization will go on.

Not to me it won't. My Sundays will be football free for the rest of my life.

Whatever Telesco and McCoy decides to do is always Golden Jizz. any criticism or questioning of their moves is automatically hater/anti territory. but it's fairly apparent in this thread, If they do decide to trade Rivers that they don't have faith in McCoy or Telesco because they think this is a 2-14 team without Rivers.

Shouldn't the same people that have been saying all these years that both McCoy and Telesco knows what is best for the team and it is putting this team in the right direction, why are they suddenly going to be up in arms if MM/TT decides it is in the Chargers best interest to not have Rivers?

Any GM is at his best when his moves are inline with MY thoughts...

Remember how good Butler was as a GM "right after" he signed David Boston?

          Oh yeah!
          Go Rivers!

See, he's been down on them from the get-go. Been waiting for a moment to say "I told you so!"

Maybe people are fans and wanted to give them a chance. Kind of like how everyone gave Norv a chance, right? Seems like you're licking your chops hoping for failure. Great fan!

If TT trades Rivers, he needs to step down.

He hasn't traded Rivers. These rumors are just that, rumors.

Same here. I'll probably watch a MNF game here and there, but that's about it. There are a few of us (TTK, KNSD, myself, for sure) that will bid 'Sayonara' to the Chargers if they move. And speaking for myself, it really doesn't matter where; LA or Timbuktu (or anywhere in between). Makes no difference.

I don't think the Chargers are LOOKING TO trade Rivers.
Nobody said Bradford is an upgrade over Rivers, but we haven't come close to sniffing a Super Bowl in 9 years WITH Rivers either.
NEITHER Mariota or any other QB in this draft is an instant upgrade over Rivers either- and may never be his equal at that.
We may not have Rivers at all after next year- so then what?
Does TT & MM think Clemons is short term starter material with a better OL and running game and be competitive?

I think of the trade scenarios I have seen speculated on, I like the 3 way better than Rivers to Titans for the #2 because we get 2 additional high picks to build with + a boom or bust young former 1st round QB as gravy too. How about taking a flyer on (supposedly improved) Tebow for cheap at the same time? <ducking>

why? There are some real pitfalls to keeping him and I'm not convinced he's going to take this team any farther then he has if we do keep and/or extend him.

If the decision was made to trade Rivers, I would actually give them props because they are making a decision based on the longer term, than the win now mentality (and also because they are showing confidence that they've made a controversial decision but stuck with it anwyway). At least I won't be a hypocrite spouting on an on about trusting/believing in them, then suddenly want them to step down just because they felt it may be best to part with Rivers.

In this case I'm giving them a chance that they think they can get a franchise qb or rb (or both even), if they decide to go forward with a trade/no trade of Rivers. I don't think we are a few pieces away from Super Bowl contention, so building something for the future is a better plan. Unless a GM/Coach is a taking over a team that is "close", I would think they would like to be a part of something that eventually becomes a contender. If you were a GM would you NOT want to have been the guy who acquired the franchise nucleus of the team? Do you want to be a GM that just drafts the serviceable RB, developmental QB etc?

If you were the coach, would you not want to have been the guy at the helm of an eventual contender as in you helped mold and create that team? or do you just want to be the coach to just extend a QB's career for 3 more measly years?

That's not licking my chops hoping for failure. That's more optimisitic than the chicken littles who are scared shitless if Rivers goes away (the same chicken littles who believed in giving MM/TT a chance, but won't want to give them the chance to make a bold and controversial move). Again, I ask, If you have believed in what MM/TT believes has been best for the team since Day One, why are you not putting more trust and faith in them now if they do decide it maybe best for the team to part with Rivers?

The decision hasn't been made. TT has reportedly said Rivers is not on the market. I'm of the belief that Rivers won't be traded, not shouldn't. It's not gonna happen.
