lol maybe they can get two firsts and a second from Tennessee.
          Prediction:
          Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

Someone tell Reich that Green is on the team.

I love me some Gates, but I want a guy who is out there fighting on every play, not someone who wants to be just a part time player, or play when he thinks it is important.

Or maybe some players realize that once you are over 30 that to play at a very high level you might have to play somewhat fewer downs to remain at the top of their games. That is physiology talking.

^This. And if it happens, maybe we'll finally get to see Green get some extended playing time.

This can totally be a win-win for everyone. And it's not just Green, although he is the most important beneficiary. Johnson could have a bigger role in the offense, but when you have a player like Gates, it is just tough to ask him to come off the field.

If Gates had never had his toe and planter facitis stuff with his feet, then maybe this could be an issue. But this is just a player being smart.

Green has to take bigger advantage of learning to run routes from what has to be the best route runner in all of football. Gates never has had the speed that Green has, but nobody can set up a DB like Gates. If Green can just learn a wuarter of what Gates knows, then he can be one of the best TE in football.

I understand this, it just sounds better comming from a coach saying "We arn't going to play Gates as much so he will be at his best when we need him the most" rather then the player saying " I don't want to play as much". It just rubs me the wrong way.

Maybe he wants to prolong his career so he can pay for the remodeling his new wife is doing on his house:
