Preparing for Randy Gregory to be drafted, and the board to meltdown.

Any indications, coach? Links, twits, blurbs, etc, that would "prepare" you for that? Or just a coach hunch?

Oh, and I'd LMAO at the stupidity of drafting a guy like that. He'd be my #1 target for the annual QSmokey-Hope-He-Busts player. Now all I gotta do is come up with a clever pot-related nickname for that bonehead.

Actually, I don't think they'll take him.

That said, I'm not against drafting him. He's a good player.

I honestly have no opinion who the Chargers will draft... too many variables... 16 teams picking in front of you will do that.

Really? I think it's been a fun off-season. Lots of stuff to talk about. There's almost nothing the Chargers can do at this point that would affect me in a negative way. Trade Rivers? Sure! Bring in the New Era. Sign Switch Master Peterson? Great...I'd FINALLY have a real excuse to 'retire' from football altogether. Move to LA and 'room' with the Raiders? Awesome! Another reason to 'retire', close the book on my sports-watching career (granted, not with a bang, but with a whimper), and get my Sundays (and Monday and Thursday evenings) back. And the absolute meltdown that this board will exhibit would make Chernobyl blush.

On the other hand, if they nail this draft (unlikely, I know...) and re-sign Rivers and Weddle, and agree to stay in San Diego...nothing wrong with that, either.

At this stage in my life, however, I'm fully expecting the worst. Comes with the territory after rooting for this team since 1980.

Prepare to be disappointed because Rivers isn't getting traded and the Chargers aren't going anywhere.

I'm just beyond baffled at how these guys think of themselves; how they can be sooooo stupid as to do something like getting caught with pot in your car (or whatever Gregory did) this close to what is arguably the most important day of your life. I just don't want that kind of irresponsibility on the team. And I don't give a she-ite if he's the 2nd Coming of Justin Houston.

I wouldn't love it. I wouldn't hate it. I am much more concerned about his inability to add and keep on weight than him testing positve for weed at the combine.

My thoughts on the weed thing is there are reports that up to as many as 70% (likely closer to half) the NFL uses weed. As long as they don't run afoul of the law, or test positive in the NFL (should never happen, they know WHEN they will be tested.....until enter program by testing positive) I could care less. can build protections into the contract a la honey badger.
