Forget where I read it but one of the on-line draft sites had him as one of the top sleeper picks.

I read somewhere some people think he will play DE.

Phiilon has some similar traits to Luiget…spell him as he learns & improves for #Chargers

I think Palepoi had the most snaps of any new player on the team last year. He didn't grade well, but he got experience.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Philon was a surprise early entry into the 2015 NFL Draft. He had a strong 2014 season for the Razorbacks and formed a nice defensive line duo with Trey Flowers. Philon totaled 46 tackles with 11.5 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two passes broken up on the year. The 6-foot-1, 298-pounder has some quickness and natural strength. He is very disruptive at the point of attack and uses his speed to fire into the backfield. Philon could be a great fit as a three-technique in a 4-3 defense. If I had to pick any defensive lineman to be this year's Geno Atkins or Henry Melton and rise from a fourth-round pick into a Pro Bowler, it would be Philon.

I think we convert him to safety.

                His draft grade: C

I like Darius Philon as a prospect; I had him being chosen a bit earlier than this. The problem with this pick, however, is that Philon doesn't project as a good fit in the 3-4. He's an ideal three-technique in the 4-3, so I'm not sure how he'll be able to play in San Diego's scheme.

SD goes with a 4 man pass rush line and he's a 3 tech pass rusher. I think it's a good fit. I don't think he has the height or strength to be an everydown 5 tech.

Walter football is a joke and I agree with you.

I wonder if he's Reyes replacement next year. I don't know if they want to give that 2nd contract to him considering his lack of productivity. As a former 2nd rounder, he'll be asking for decent money.

Am I the only one here who thinks this kid will play DE?
Well, he's not big enough for NT so unless we switch to a 4-3 he will be a DE.

A reach is when another team takes a player you didn't expect or hadn't heard of. When your team does it its a "find."
