Film Study: The good, The bad and The ugly (great) week1 vs WFT

Its back!!!! more Film study for my diehards
This week saw a very average all-22 coverage which failed to show down and distance for each play making it hard for Chillies to describe the plays I guess the camera crew needs to gel...

Anywho onto what we all been waiting for:

    THE GOOD
Check out the stonewall block from Slater and the nice hole for Roundtree to run through. We got a good one at LT finally

    THE BAD
Herbert overthrows Anderson which looks like he panicked a bit. If Herbert waits 1-2 sec longer has has MWill open in the corner for TD. The pocket was clean so i can only put it down to rust on Herbert.

    The Ugly (great)
On the very next play after Herber INT we see an awesome defensive play. ASJ makes a crucial tackle and White punches the ball loose. Look at those white jerseys swarming to the ball (33, 9, 97, 44, 26) Its magical.

    Honorable Mentions:
    #1
    Palmer getting some good separation

    #2
Derwin doin Derwin things. He is hands down the best safety in the league

    as always luv ya

Great analysis, Chili, and glad yer back with this film study! Regarding that pick, it was reported that Skins CB Jackson baited Herbie into that throw...notice how far Jackson is from Anderson as Herbie releases the rock...then Jackson breaks off covering Mike Will and darts over just in time for the pick...I'm sure Herbie will learn from this...

Amazing. Note how Derwin sticks with his man like Superglue ALL the way across the field...one of the hardest routes to defend...but note that even when he gets separated a bit, the way Derwin turns on the jets to recover the lost ground and get that PD...just wow...

            Great stuff NMC.
            But Derwin ?
            He don't do "Honorable Mention."
            Go big or go home.
We do not play modern football.

Good breakdown. I bet if we all saw it, coach Staley is all over it with Justin in the film room. A play we may not see against Dallas, but one that’s now in Herbert’s memory bank.

The best: the fact that there weren’t 20 choices of terrible OL play to pick from like every game last year. Great work!

yeah a pump fake to the TE would open it up. Herbie had plenty of time

sry gotta put turnovers ahead of pass breakups. If Derwin get the INT its greatest play evaaaaaaaaa!!!

Yup last year the bad was littered with turnstile Tevi and company blowing assignments and allowing D stuff RB in the backfield. This is a breath of fresh air.

Good stuff, chili. Did anyone catch this compression tackle by the rookie Asante Samuel II and Kyzir White? Asante went low and Kyzir went high, stripping the ball carrier, as he used his left arm to protect himself, instead of two arms-on-the-ball. Team-work.
