dont know how the oline did so well against a supposed superior d front of WFT but had a lot more pressure from a cowgirl's D that was missing a couple of their Dline starters. storm was a revolving door that shoulda had some chip help from RBs or TEs.

Telesco and failure to get a decent backup for Bulaga
It boggles my mind that this does not have more votes.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

      - 69-74 record
      - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
      - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
      - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
      - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
      - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
      - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

Because Norton did not play as much against Washington. Plus they did not know how bad he was and instead tried to attack Slater at first since he’s a rookie.

Apart from Norton, the O line wasn’t awful today. About an average day.

DL kept trying to jump around blocks and not play their assignments. Pursuit by the ILB and DB could have been better too.

Some of the Cowboys big plays we simply overran the Cowboys players and then they could cut off the out of position guy and make a big play.

            outside containment was pretty horrendous.

The outside contain in Staley's D is often from the secondary. Guys were late coming up, or bit on the influence moves inside and then got beat to the edge when they were a step behind. The ILB and S fill is also not that great at times, but that was a problem that the Rams had last year too, so hopefully, like the Rams it will get better.

This game struck me that it was a little bit like they fell back into some of the bad habits from the McCoy/Lynn era's. Somewhat sloppy ... a lot of guys not playing with situational awareness ...

the 2 DB who were doubling Zeke on the 1st 3rd down of the final drive, got caught inside and let him beat them to the corner on the swing pass...

It's not any one play, or even a couple of plays. There were a lot of plays left on the field. Penalties ... mental mistakes ... bad technique ... it just wasn't pretty.

The one encouraging thing is that I thought Herbert was way off his game vs Washington and he was still way more than good enough to win the game.

Lots of misses at the 2nd level.

But Tillery was just straight up bad. He was going backward almost every snap. Banks was bad too. Losing Jones from a shallow position group was rough.

Probably should have activayed Merrill or Fehoko over Gaziano.

Two big things caused the loss.
                  2 interceptions by Herbert
12 penalties for 99 penalty yards.

Either one of those don't happen, and the Chargers win easy.

If you had been told on Saturday, that the Chargers would hold the Cowboys to 20 points, you would have been happy.

But Charger offense could not over come 2 interceptions and massive penalties.

                  P.S.
Don't blame the refs, the Chargers were sloppy and made penalties when it hurt them a LOT.

Both the legit and the bogus penalties..... penalties kept both teams from scoring many points.....

Chargers earned alot of penalties but the TD pass to Cook was legit and they took it away with a bogus penalty that even the announcers did not see...... that would have given Chargers a 3 or 4 point lead and we would have either won or went to OT..... there were also some other bogus penalties..... there were also 2 stupid ones where KA and Cook stupidly taunted the defenders......

The first Pick KA did not cut short enough..... and the 2nd pick, KA fell down...... Staley confirmed that during his presser......

TD to Parham was also a bogus call. Rip negates holding.

Listening to Staley, he was a little/moderately upset with:

-Running some DL slants, and one or more of the DL slanted the wrong way, so the LB(s)/S were caught out of position. That speaks to the point I was making

                          - the secondary players missed the read when the Cowboys WR's were cracking (blocking down) on the secondary force player, and the secondary was supposed to trade off, and didn't. That speaks to the point that Jubei made in response to my point on the lack of positive gap control.

-Tackling could have been better - a lot of people mentioned that.
