I'm just taking about Justin Tucker! Specialist. Hall of Fame 1st ballot best kicker ever who has 10 plus season left to play.

Im thinking now and the next decade. This is a known commodity. The 2022 draft will produce what 10 years from now.

This 2021 team has from past Telesco drafts...
    2013 1 player Allen
    2014 & 2015 zero players
    2016 1 player Bosa
    2017 1 player Williams
2018 6 rostered now but really they have 1 great player Derwin James.
2019 5 rostered now but really who knows Tquill, Adderley, Tilllery will they help as much as Tucker when it matters?!

Add Tucker, add wins. And just keep it moving, add some free agents and udfa to replace the 2nd-7th Rd picks. Tucker at least gets to be the 2022 1st Rd pick equivalent. So it's just dumping the late 2nd through 7th to acquire him. And using free agency / udfa to supplement the missed picks. And the next draft back to normal. It's an aggressive move that would pay off long term.

Tucker is a great fg kicker, no doubt. One of the best ever. But you’re not paying attention to Staley. He’s not dependent on a fg kicker. He’s dependent on JH10. We are playing for TDs. It’s a different game.

aren’t you the guy who was holding onto Lynn for dear life?

This feels like coach Ditka with the Ricky Williams draft.

        What?
Staley was my #1 candidate for new HC.
Your missing the point. Its probability and analytics. It's not about playing for FG. You play for the TD Like going for it on 4th down. It's all about winning. It's for when there is 1 second left and Chargers are down 3 or less and the ball is at the 40. And it could be a scenario that happens it a post season game. Or when there no time left and it's end of 1st half and cash in some points. And for making all those XPs after those TDs.
Who has it better than us?

          RBs usually last 3 seasons.

Analytics of clutch kicking and longevity of the position.

What do the Chargers have from Telesco 2014 and 2015 drafts right now?

              Yes after.
Then it's on to the next one.
Staley was my favorite of the bunch.
It's a different roster mostly at oline.
A healthy Derwin and Ekeler help too.

Lamar Jackson 37 of 43, 440 yds. passing, 4 TD's, no intereceptions, 60+ yards rushing.
4 consecutive TD drives in 4th and OT for the W.
                  500+ total yards.....
Has a QB EVER put up those kind of numbers?
Staley and Co. will have their hands full next week once again.
This one is for AFC supremacy! Hope the Bolts bring their A game.

You're assuming that free agency is successful model for building a team and it historically does not prove out that way. We're running a completely different defensive scheme which will require drafting players over time to suit our defensive model. Trading an entire draft for any player, let alone a kicker, no matter how good, is completely asinine in my opinion.

Remember Kaeding in the post season. How his leg stop both Brees and Rivers from advancing. Sometimes a clutch kick is needed or you go home.

How can I forget. Kaeding cost us 3 playoff games and maybe a title.

nuts an interesting point. Adam vinatieri was critical and won the Pats a title or two.

                          What?
Im not advocating going free agency year after year as a way to build a team.
I'm talking about a single draft. It's just an extreme way to make my point. I'm just pointing out that if you made the extreme move, you still have option of using free agency to fill some spots and udfa to bring into camp. And often there isn't much difference between a 4th-7th Rd pick and udfa. So it's really those 1st-3rd picks. And since one can be said to be used to pick the hall of famer. Your really only giving up 2 valuable picks which would be unknown rookies who may or may not succeed. Your acquired a known commodity. A special player.
Of course you don't have to trade the entire 2022 draft. You can trade some 2022 and some 2023. Whatever package works to get a hall of fame kicker for a decade. Future drafts are about 50 percent success rate for 1st Rd picks and then those percentages go down Rd by Rd. Trading for Tucker is playing the percentages. He is 100% lock to be successful for next 10 seasons. None of the 2022 or 2023 unknown players is likely to be as successful. A clutch kick in post season can be the difference between advancing of going home.
Like Kaeding missing kick for both Brees and Rivers. Who knows how those playoffs end if he makes the damn kick.
Trading what it takes to get a hall of fame kicker.
                          It's not asinine, it's analytics.
