    Bront Bird

Te'o is down, next man up is Bront Bird. Time to get some production from the ILB spot.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Don't forget DJ Smith. I thought he looked ok against the seahawks, but it was hard to tell, because everyone else was getting run over.

ive always liked bront bird. was surprised when he was cut last year before the season started. thought he deserved a spot on the 53 over mouton. hes always around the ball and is pretty solid in coverage and on special teams. i dont know if hes a full time starter or anything but for a backup, hes good. ill be paying attention more to dj smith in the next few weeks. one thing is for sure; he might be short but his lower body is thickkk

I agree. I like having someone more physically talented than Bront, but he does have a knack for making plays when he is in the game.

A response like that means you probably haven't watched him play. Unless you mean he also got in Aces' grill.

I agree with the earlier posters; he has game and proved it last year. He shoulda stuck.

He was surprisingly effective last year when he had to play. Nothing spectacular, but he seemed like a solid backup.

Agree, which is why I am kind of scratching my head at the excitement to watch him play.

Not only that, but Bird is effective on STs, and seems like that unit needs all the good players it can get. I'm starting to wonder if the new coach's schemes are messing up the cover units....

that punter was consistently outkicking his coverage and not only that, we had a bunch of guys on those units that wont be with the team come week 1.

Guess we'll see this week and next. Can't wait until Game 1 to start playing the starting ST unit--They have to be playing fairly soon so the coaches can really see what they have. I think most of us would be very curious to see how this coach sets up his cover units. Maybe last week was not a good indicator, but they have to find out soon....
