    Fluker Moved to OG

A few of us expected this to happen. He will need some time but im pretty excited about this.

The Chargers have kicked D.J. Fluker inside to guard.
He's been practicing there the last few days, with Joseph Barksdale moving up to the first team at right tackle. This combination gives San Diego its best-possible offensive line, with King Dunlap at left tackle, Orlando Franklin at left guard, Chris Watt at center, and Fluker-Barksdale on the right side.

Fleet, where are you hearing/reading this? Twitter, radio, etc? I'm not seeing it on any of the usual sports news sites or the SDUT. I know the move has been rumored for months now, but is this finally confirmation that it's happening for sure? Regardless, I like the move, b/c it most likely signals that Barksdale is also working out well at RT.

And I'm looking forward to seeing what Barksdale can do at RT. If he can solidify that position, we're looking solid at OL.

Yeah, if only Franklin can stay healthy. I am starting to worry about him, given how he's apparently missing so much TC time. Hopefully it's just a precaution.

He has been practicing at guard for, I think, four days now. It started when Porkchop got banged up. Porkchop is back, though, and Fluker was still running with the ones as a guard. AFAIK, McCoy hasn't said anything about a permanent move. He keeps talking about mixing things up and looking for the best combination. Training camp reports have been saying that he looks good as a guard in the run game, but is struggling to adjust to the new assignments and the quicker pace inside in pass protection. I think it might stick, though. McCoy did say imply that Fluker should have some snaps at guard in the game tomorrow. It's something that should be interesting to watch.

Yeah, I knew he had been practicing there in TC....I just wasn't sure if Fleet's post was indicating it was now being announced as a permanent relocation.

It's refreshing that management is willing to re-examine player attributes and make adjustments accordingly. It seems like in the past, old regimes were so reluctant to sort of break out of the existing position classifications. Like Clary would've been a good move to guard a long time ago, etc.
