Giants @ Chargers Pregame Discussion (wk 14)

Chargers can not overlook this game, even though it is the least impactful for the playoff chances, but they also have to be ready with the very short week for Thursday vs. the Chiefs. Realisticly, the only chance the Giants have is with mistakes by the Chargers, and lowering their level of play to the competition. Giants still have Barkley and we know what the biggest weakness is for the Defense.

Our biggest weakness is actually pass defense. We’re like middle of the pack in run defense since the bye.

The image is famous. But, in the crowd prior to this, there had been a fatal heart attack in the stands. The paramedics had taken the man and placed him on a gurney
with a white sheet pulled over his head. They were waiting to place the man in an ambulance, near the Giants locker room, in the tunnel. The Giants players went back to the locker room and they all had to pass that gurney.

They thought Bednarik had killed him. Gifford did not play again that season.

Jones is likely to sit out against the Los Angeles Chargers this week and could miss more time even beyond that - Ralph Vacchiano

And as SNY reported on Friday, the Giants were already bracing for Jones to miss multiple starts with what they are calling a “strained neck".

The Giants have been coy about the exact nature of Jones’ injury and its significance. Head coach Joe Judge has been reluctant to rule Jones out for any extended period of time, but also couldn’t close the door on the injury being season-ending.

Team doctors refused to clear Jones for contact last week, which left him limited in practice. That is not likely to change over the next five days, which means DJ will be forced to ride the pine yet again on Sunday.

chargers need to be aggressive early, take them out early and hopefully have a nice game where chase daniels is playing the 4th quarter

Everyone thought the Bengals would blow us out but we persevered. The Giants can definitely give us a letdown game as well if we’re not careful. They played the Chiefs incredibly tight and beat the Eagles who we had a hard time with. Got to take care of business this upcoming Sunday despite the Chiefs game on Thursday afterwards.

Chiefs have their own tough game - Raiders. Even though its at Arrowhead - Divison games can be tougher and the Raiders have to win Sunday if they truly want to make the playoffs.
