Because people get upset when we can’t convert and automatically blame Lombardi for some reason. Against the Steelers we gave it to Ekeler and he got stuffed, which led to people on here complaining that we should have had Herbert sneaked for it instead. Now we sneaked it and it didn’t work, and you mention giving it to Ekeler instead. Sometimes plays don’t work out for a variety of reason including execution. It’s not necessarily always the play selection.

I wasn't referring to giving it to ekler instead of a sneak bro. I was referring to the previous play where ekler was marked short of first down.
