Levitre traded to ATL for a 6rh rounder / Other FA Cuts

Man, considering we have Levitre's old coach, I would've liked Telesco to have taken a look at Levitre. For such a low asking price and our relationship with Whisenhunt, having Levitre on the interior would've busted big running lanes for Gordon.

I see that NT Louis Nix (2014 3rd rounder) was cut. He was a popular thought for drafting back in 2014. Would be nice to bring him in to kick the tires, as well as Darnell Docket.

There is no way the guy gets signed to an active roster. I can see someone taking a look at him as a practice squad guy, but no one if going to gamble on him with a real roster spot. It's not like Lissemore or Carrethers would get cut for this guy, it would be some other practice squad guy. Even then, there are several that I would rather sign from our own roster before I would even think about Nix.

I don't think the guy is hopeless, I just thought he was way to raw to play DL unless you broke him down and redid his technique from scratch. And he was never worth a high draft pick. I do think if you can get him to play lower and get in shape to play with some explosion, that we have a couple of former ND guys who might make him a less risky pick. But Nix has to change his game and learn to play in the NFL.

Carrethers is becoming more than just a guy, he flash potential last year before going on IR and I agree he is developing into a fine NT and I think he will improve as he plays each game.

Levitre's contract is probably the reason, which is 6.5 mil the next 3 seasons then 5.8 plus a 2 mil roster bonus after that making his cap hit 7.8 mil.
