I will admit I'm kinda torn about this.

Had come to rely on Novak's steadiness. That being said...having consistent touchbacks are going to be HUGE for us.

A return to the Chargers in Week 2 for Phillips? Perhaps Nick Novak as well?

          Michael Gehlken @UTgehlken
TE John Phillips was due $1.4M base salary, up to $600K in potential incentives. Base salary would've been guaranteed if on roster Week 1.

Why clear up that kind of money with Brown on the roster? Are we working to trade him? Will TT use this $ to sign someone? Or use as his war chest during the season?

Do you think clearing cap space was a major factor? His comment about not coming in just to be a camp leg or whatever he said makes me think he was promised a real competition for the job.

Why do they need cap space?
                    Prediction:
                    Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

They're going to build a stadium with it.

Yeah I still think there should have been a way to keep both Novak and Lambo.

Do we really need 4 RBs on the roster?
