I don't think John Madden's passing is going to affect the Raiders in any way. Madden was an Oakland Raider from way, way back. He remained in the Bay Area for the rest of his life. He has no connection with Las Vegas. He resigned as coach of the Raiders 40 years ago, and forged an independent path for himself, he didn't remain tied to the Raiders organization. He is much better known as a broadcaster and TV pitchman than he is for his time with the Raiders. He was a broadcaster for much, much longer than coach of the Raiders. The current Raiders team barely know who the guy is. He's a name on an outdated video game who called football games once. He has a connection with Mark Davis, yes. Davis was a boy when Madden coached the Raiders. But that is the only person Madden had any connection with on the Raiders. So I'm not buying the sentimentality thing.

Yes. We have this mega-talented QB who can strike as quick as lightning and look just awesome on longer pass plays - but I can see I'm going to need to monitor my expectations as we get closer and closer to game-time next Sunday because with a defense like ours there is no such thing as a gimme no matter who we play. This is a different sort of Chargers "playoffs" team - if we get that far - than what I'm used to. It's a little stressful for me. LOL

Was announced after the GB/Minn game was over. Have fun, I turned down sitting next to my brother-in-law who has Raider season tix,

It will be the final game played in the 2021 regular season. But for all intents and purposes it will be the first game of the post season.
