Boltjolt we call it Thanksgiving also, same deal, Turkey and all that. Usually the 2nd weekend in October. It is not the massive holiday it is in the US though with Black Friday and a 4 day deal. 3 day weekend thoughOriginally posted by Boltjolt View Post
Didnt know that. Do you call it something else?
Its kinda like for some reason we here in the USA we celebrate Cinco De Mayo, when Mexicos independance day is actually September 16th lol.
Cinco De Mayo was a victory battle over the French so no idea why we celebrate that. Has nothing to do with us.
In anycase, i hope you come out healthy from all this. Losing an eye or any limb for that matter is sad but better than the alternative.
Lucky I am not losing my eye ball, that would be much harder to deal with. My eye is in tact and should look pretty notmal when all is said and done, i will just lose more of the vision in that eye over the next few weeks.
So the Jaguar debacle was NOT my last Charger game with both eye full vision as I thought! Thank God! I just learned that when i went for first surgery. Yesterday 2nd surgery to remove the radiation plaque and I am so happy and relieved to have that out. it was tough...but sooo better now! Some soreness from having my eye cut into but way more managable.

Coming in to this sacred place this morning to ask the community for mojo and good vibes in the direction of my friend Joe.
Joe and I were in a band together a few years back. He's an amazing guitar player, the best I've ever had the privilege of taking the stage with.
Joe was recently diagnosed with a malignant tumor-- the size of a grapefruit-- in his abdomen. The good news is that the tumor isn't connected to any organs that would make metastasis more likely. But he's in really bad pain, and waiting for surgery that's been scheduled for a month from now. He can definitely use all the good vibes we can muster for him.
Thank you, one and all.Last edited by Ghost of Quacksaw; 12-19-2025, 08:51 AM.

I'm here with a bit of an update on Joe.
I emailed him on Wednesday, and just heard back from him this evening. I had let him know about the TPB'ers who are pelting him with mojo. He was moved by that, and very appreciative. I am appreciative of that, also, so thanks to all y'all from the both of us.
He's scheduled for another MRI tomorrow, and says his pain more tolerable since his docs switched some meds for him. IMO, even small positives are significant morale boosters for him, so I'm encouraged by this.
Thank you again for treating Joe like family.

Prayers Sent! I just lost an amazing band friend sax player - that guy loved life and lived like every day was special. Turned out it is. I assumed he was an international secret agent based on his observable life storyOriginally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View PostComing in to this sacred place this morning to ask the community for mojo and good vibes in the direction of my friend Joe.

Hello,
About 1 1/2 yrs ago we lost our daughter to a rare cancer, she was ONLY 37 and we cry daily still go the the crematory every Saturday. she left us with a wonderful son in law that we love like a son and a grandson. I'm lucky enough to have a work sch that allows me to watch our grandson 3 to 4 days a week. He wears me out and i'm not young, but wouldn't trade that for anything in this world.
My wife had a hysterectomy about a month ago and now needs to go back for radiation for a bit. We could really use that vibes from you all Please....Fan Since 1966, first game
