OT: Its Good To Be Back!

    Hey everyone,

Not sure if any noticed lol, but this is the first time that I have been on the forum for quite a long time. Tbh, am lucky to be alive. I got in a very bad car wreck in November and was in and out of the hospital for several weeks; lots of broken bones, physical therapy, etc. Am glad to say that even though still not 100 percent recovered, am doing way better than I was. Still followed the Bolts during that time of course and really feel good about this upcoming season. Deffo feel between and us and KC for the division.

Anyway, just again wanted to say how thankful I am and looking forward to get back to chatting with you fellas and hope y'all have been doing good also.

Happy to hear you are doing better. Keep up the good rehab.
Like your Ron Mix avatar, Ron was a great player.

So sorry to hear about your accident. Welcome back.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Thanks for posting this thread, T.I.A.

So glad you are on the mend. You've probably already discovered that this experience has taught you some things.

I went through something considerably smaller than you did six years ago-- I had a circular saw jam, and kick back over my left index finger, and it was mangled from the middle joint out to the tip of the finger.

I learned some things about pain:

I figured out how to compartmentalize it. (Man, was *that* helpful!)

I learned that the pain of injury and the pain of healing both hurt, but they don't feel the same.

I learned that in spite of how bad the finger felt, and how little I could do with it, if I just kept doing the physical therapy, I continued to make progress, and I still do, six years later. There are still spots on the finger that are completely numb, other spots where sensation has returned, and yet other spots that show the first major sign of the nerves functioning again-- everything in those spots feels the same as when your foot's 'asleep'.

But it slowly keeps improving, which is especially important to me because I play guitar.

All to say, congrats on getting better, and you will have many meaningful takeaways from your experience. I hope you'll share them with us.

Your finger issue caught my attention. I had three tendons in my R hand ripped lose. Therapy to regain range of motion? I nearly upchucked on the therapist the 1st few times. The nerves remained fully functional

Oh and I was a Ron Mix fan also back in the day.

                      I hate when that happens!

I've had four hand surgeries, so I know something about rehab!
