The Mariners did the same thing and when they knocked the Blue Jays out that place went crazy.

I do think the Padres pitching staff is deeper than the Phillies. But that lineup is pretty stout

Watch out for Wheeler he is rolling and attack that dude early in the count and early in the game.

The Padre offense is frustrating. They have an occasional monster inning and lots and lots of wasted opportunities.

Yeah or he has money on the Phillies. That was clearly not a offer and it was really clear. Maybe he had a hot date but I highly doubt it. That changes the whole 9th inning if you have a runner on second, the pitcher has so much more to worry about. Also that strike on pitch 3 was clearly a ball. It should have been a 4 pitch walk. I can’t wait for pitch review, these umps get to decide games way too much and they are far from perfect.

What was that half assed argument by Melvin? Come on put some fire under your teams butts. You need a rally a bomb something and your team just got shafted, the wind taken out of their sails and you meekly go out and have a gentleman’s chat with the umps, lame. You have to be able to light a fire sometimes as a coach, we may have found Melvin’s weakness.

The padres squandered so many opportunities though so they have to work on the timely hitting.
