Rams rookie offensive lineman Logan Bruss is out for the season after tearing ligaments in his right knee during Los Angeles' second preseason game.

This is concerning to me as well. Saw another linemen Aaron Stinnie, competing for starting LG go down with knee injury, carted off the field for Tampa too.

I agree with this 100% If a guy is going to get injured, he’s going to get injured. There’s no injury increase for playing in the preseason, in actuality there is a greater increase in injury as we saw during the COVID cancelled pre-season. Buffalo played Josh Allen as well today. All this is going to do is have our starters come out rusty in week one like they did last year in barely beating a terrible Washington team. If we come out rusty against a solid Vegas team we won’t be as lucky.

I don’t know im fully on board with zero play for all starters, but i don’t agree with the premise there is no injury increase of playing vs not playing. Injuries are mostly random events with a certain low probability of occurrence. The more chances, the more likely to occur just as the more times you flip a coin the more heads you will get. The more times you bet on a 100-1 pony, the more likely you are to eventually hit on one. Its not there is a GREATER chance in preseason, its there is roughly the SAME chance. Coaches decided that this same chance of occurrence is not worth the risk vs the value gained from 10 or 15 reps. Most teams play starters very little, the actual game practice is not as much as is imagined.

How many "illegal block in the back" penalties we gonna see on kickoffs and punt returns I wonder? Progress on Special teams would not be seeing 2 or 3 each game.

I think there is greater chance of injury in preseason as players want to show they’re tough guys so they can make the team.
