I can't see Wiz being brought back to replace Reich midseason as the OC, but I do see that as an opportunity to bring him back as a consultant. I really doubt it, as his kids are in the middle of the school year, and I think the reason why he took this job for 'quality of life' vs. the potential of the team (say Detroit).

Perhaps on another team but he would never take a step down here and I don't think Chuck would come in and do that to his brother anyway.

Why would you want Nolan as HC? He sucked in SF and had a big hand in passing on Aaron Rodgers for Alex Smith. No thanks, may as well keep McCoy.

To be fair to Nolan (who I don't want as HC either), everyone was touting Alex Smith as the consensus #1, and for whatever reason Rodgers fell down to Green Bay. So a lot of people passed on Rodgers before GB got him.

He fell because no teams in between needed a QB

Reich mentioned as a candidate to replace Whisenhunt on espn article today.

Sorry, closed the tab already, or I'd paste it.

Have a field day with that one, boys.

But does that matter? Rodgers is a one of a kind HOF QB, if you use this reasoning on Nolan you kinda have to apply it to other teams that had QBs of lesser value (nearly all of them with the exception of elite teams with elite QBs), and besides, GB had Favre at the time (you could make an argument that GB and Favre were elite), and it would be a few years until he was pushed aside. Smith was touted as the consensus #1 pick. I'm just saying to use this as a reason to pass on Nolan is questionable, there are a lot of other reasons out there to pass on him (like he's a lousy head coach and apparently a mediocre LB coach too), and besides, even if he became HC he really wouldn't have input into player acquisitions.

Evidently, they thought they'd be better. But I'm not sure many did.

I do not think we see any coaches canned, until after the season. Then, well, it's going to be a lot of wait and see. (unless of course, the team loses out, and goes 2-14 or something.)

If they are serious about moving, I can see a new staff being brought in to generate excitement. Either way, it stinks having a terrible team, and I don't like it.
kinda like when we had Gilbride + Leaf?

Maybe not Nolan, but I like the idea of Whisenhunt as OC, and having a Defense-minded HC for next year...
next year, because apparently in 5 days isn't an option.

I bet some of them do now. Or even if they don't they'd rather have AR.

Did Nolan have GM authority? Don't remember.
